Live Recording Proposal...
As some of you might know my studio does multitrack live recordings, of very good quality that are mixed and mastered by me after the gig thus giving the band a cool live album/EP/whatever.
If any bands playing at the diner are interested and providing its okay with sue and the sound guy, I would be willing to offer discounts, paticuarly to more than one band in a night...
let me know if anyone would be interested in this service?

Live Recordings
Come to the diner gig on Sunday and and have a chat with me and Trev (sound) and we will see if it is feasible.
PM me so I know what equipment you would be bringing, might be able to get a good thing going on for the bands.
Cheers Sue

Re: Live Recording Proposal...
I shall try my upmost best.
Equipment wise, we're thinking, computer, mics, desk. The usual.
It'll be cool for bands if it goes ahead. And probably cool for the promotion of the venue too, because you could put it up on the internet.

Re: Live Recording Proposal...
That is what I was thinking, wonder if I would have room for you to try is out on Sunday?? would you fit in between sound and lighting desks? If it works ok you would be in business< so do you want to come up and give it a go as an experiement? Sue
Re: Live Recording Proposal...
I'll ask if I can get a lift, I'd need paying by the bands recorded of course, cause it all gets mixed down in my own time. But I'd be willing to significantly discount it for more than one band and cause its at the diner.
Re: Live Recording Proposal...
If you have 2 or 3 bands for example what would you charge them each?, let me know on here and I will speak to the 3 local bands if you are able to make it. Sue
Re: Live Recording Proposal...
I'd do a half hour set for £30 if more than one band wanted it (its usually £50), if only one band wants recording it'll be £40, £10 off cause its the diner.
Re: Live Recording Proposal...
Ok fair enough Lets see which bands respond by tomorrow night..they are probably off somewhere enjoying the good Friday weather
Re: Live Recording Proposal...
Right if you can make it to the diner, you have two takers The Rash & Under The Thumb, so if you can get there from 6pm you should have time to set up before we start at 7pm. I think you have my email and mobile if not just ask
Here is the details if anyone want to know more http://www.myspace.com/lemonfacestudios

Re: Live Recording Proposal...
This shall be fun!
Have any of the other bands responded?
No just the two but we can speak to the others on arrival and if they want to be recorded all well and good, will you record the full set traight through with the chatting to the audience and the crowds clapping and cheering etc that really gives the recording the authentic atmophere. Hoping to also video the bands that are being recorded, maybe you would be a ble to put someting together

Re: Live Recording Proposal...
Thats really great I will aim to be there for 5.30pm, we can get in as soon as the staff turn up, it does vary and also we are presuming no one is using the venue for kids party etc before hand.
See you there my number is 07734098605 if you need me.

I always record chatting to the audience clapping, because as you say it adds atmosphere, so usually I stick a mic facing the audience as well to capture that. I dont have any facilitys to add it to video here, but if we worked on the assumption it was all recorded begining to end, that would be fairly easy to sync up by someone who knew what they were doing.
See ya there!

Re: Live Recording Proposal...
Yeah someone might be able to sort it for us So I am going to send out a bulletin telling everyone it is going to be recorded and we need audience participation
Re: Live Recording Proposal...
sweet!
I've decided as you want a nice atmospheric recording and I have mic's going spare I'll set you up a pair of stereo mics somewhere (maybe drums maybe audience) which will further pick up the audience and when you pan them left and right you can hear what side of the audience people are shouting things from and stuff, its really cool if you get it right...
when its all mixed down I'll post the rash and under the the thumb their CD's and post you one aswell for promotion and such (if its okay with them of course, I dont wanna tread on anyones toes here)

Re: Live Recording Proposal...
Thats a brilliant idea, worth chatting about it before hand.
You can send them all to me, if you wish as I manage both bands but speak to The Rash on Sunday incase they want you to send them a copy direct as they are in Ashford and I am in Maidstone, but I see them most weeks.

Re: Live Recording Proposal...
ah! sweet.
We'll sort everything out tommorow evening!
You wont be dissapointed, dont worry.
The other thing, is do you mind if those bands do longer soundchecks, as I really need to get the levels right before they go to tape?

Re: Live Recording Proposal...
Yeah no worries we are going to kick off at 7pm with an acoustic set, and will fit any necessary sound and level check for thew bands being recorded as we go along
Re: Live Recording Proposal...
ermmm.
I'd advise we do them before the doors open as they can take up to 10 minuites each. Its up to you though, I can botch them but I'd rather not.

Re: Live Recording Proposal...
Well we could do it beetween sets. but it envolves bands playing a whole song, which might take momentum off their set?
