Sound and Equipment at the Diner
Thought this might be useful for bands playing the diner, if some body could make a list of what equipment there is, what the bands need to supply and it can also be used to sort out any gear sharing that needs to be done.
Things like... Is there a house drum kit or do we need to brings ours?
do we need to supply breakables?
How many (if any) mics are available?
Are the drums and amps miked?
What kind of monitoring system is there?
What do we need in the way of amps? eg everything, just heads, nothing?
do we get a soundhceck and if so when should we arrive to set up?
If we had a guide on here for all the bands to refer to im sure it'd save a lot of time and confusion for a lot of people.
It'd be useful too, if people are bringing their own amps or drums, to say whether they'd be happy for other bands to use them and maybe that way bands playing on the same night can PM each other and cut down on the gear they need to bring and also save space on stage.
yea... hope this is in the right place...

Re: Sound and Equipment at the Diner
Drum kit will be provided your drummer needs to bring his snare, cymbals, stands and pedals though.
We have 4 x Shure 58 mics
The venue is very small, so no micing or drums or amps
There are two floor monitors
You can arrange amp share with other bands playing (this is your responsibility)
You will have vocal line check.
Anything else you want to know just ask. All bands get a message 2 weeks before they perform will full details or the gig.

Re: Sound and Equipment at the Diner
thanks
is there any charge for use of the drum kit?
We'll bring our own amps, bassists are welcome to use whatever cab i bring, probably the 4x10, just let me know if you'd like to use it and we can arrange something. (we're playing on March 2nd).
what time do you generally expect bands to arrive?

Re: Sound and Equipment at the Diner
Ok cool, how much time i there between sets to change things around? or is it just ASAP kinda thing?
Re: Sound and Equipment at the Diner
You get to play 5 songs - maximum time 20 minutes, 15 minutes to turn round between bands
Re: Sound and Equipment at the Diner
Do all bands playing at the diner get 20mins or is that just for the BOTB?
Re: Sound and Equipment at the Diner
No Kat, BOTB is up to 20 minutes (5 original tracks)
Normal gigs like yours is a 30 minute set and play what you like

Re: Sound and Equipment at the Diner
My amp is pretty small and quiet. (makes a nice sound though, cant beat a good valve).
If I bring a mic, can you mic it up? because I have this awful feeling its gunna be too quiet.
