Equipment brag!!!
Helllo,
Just thought i'd post a thread and discuss different equipment people use, wether it'd be the guitar or a set of decks and anything else.
Would be nice to discuss what we got, brag about it, slate it or whatever, also a good place to find out what different products are like. so fire away!!!

skintshitinstruments
for ages i played a squire strat, still got it in fact.... got two of 'em, gave one to sam coz they are so ridiculously cheap.... now i play a Burns Cobra... 'tis green and has far superior pick-ups, they are generally really loud for single-coils.... which is great, i don't get on too well with humbuckers but like the loudness.... my pedals... an mxr distortion which i keep as a standard paul's-guitar tone, a boss stereo digital reverb unit, and i just got my fave distortion pedal a proco RAT.... as played with by my top guitarist graham coxon... i use it to beef up the solos.... i run through a 1977 HandH head and a handmade 15" cab that my dad made about 15 years ago and is falling apart... but has lovely character.... sam uses the same amp as me but one of ours is a bass amp and the other a guitar, can't remember which, but slightly different in tone.... and his is an 80s model i think....he has started playing a 335 copy, with humbuckers, so he don't need much distortion... but on the beefy songs, he uses an electro-harmonix big muff... legendary.... Joe plays a fender precision bass which is actually sam's.... his amp... can't remember, but it has warm tonal qualities..... ... phil drums on an immense purple pearl that he his mother gave birth to with him playing ..... Ben and i use sure mics.... my recording gear is Korg d1600mkII, it's lovely, digital with touchscreen..... only use it for demos though....
Re: Equipment brag!!!
Coolio!!!
I myself (The Bass player) I use a Fender 60's reisusse Jazz Bass with emg pickups. i also use a Maverick Nemesis S5 5string bass for that real lowdown grunt.
Amp wise, i use a Peavey firebass 700 Bass head (700watts) so more than enough power at the moment and i run that through two 2x10" Warwick WCA211 cabs.
No effects at the moment in time, dont have much luck with them as the ones i've used have sounded naff, looking to invest in some decent ones soon.

grunt
ooh, you can't beat that lowdown grunt..... generally i find with fx... single purpose units are good, particularly boutique ones... like mxr, electro-harmonix etc. if you are after really decent envelope sounds like flange, chorus, phase then you can't beat electro-harmonix.... i steer clear of weird noises though... unless i am in a prog kind of mood.... and also, keep trying things out... expensive doesn't necessarily mean great with pedals... i personally think most boss units are crap and overpriced... apart from the delay and reverb...
Re: Equipment brag!!!
Burns Cobra
High five for Burns to be perfectly honest!
I wish I had one.
All I have is an Epiphone Electro-Acoustic, and some hunk of junk I bought to knock around for about £50.
My dad has some bloooody brilliant kit though, jammy git!
25th anniversary tele...
nice one
wow chloe, that's the most intelligent brag i have ever heard... beats the tele... and the burns.... i have a dictionary, a thesaurus and a whole bunch of Dickens the pen is mightier than the guitar!
Re: Equipment brag!!!
I use a Traben Tribal Sun 3 band EQ active bass with a Laney RB-9 head, Laney 1x15 cab and Eden 2x10 cab. Also use MXR/Dunlop/T-Rex/Boss effects for it.
Theres also my Yamaha P90 stage piano with Roland KC550 amp. I use a Shure beta SM58A mic and for practice a Shure wireless in ear system.
