Heath Ledger's death, and religion
I'm pretty sure everyone knows about Heath Ledger's death by now. It's sad, but that's not specifically what I want to talk about.
That's just outrageous!!! Personally, I think it's wrong that they hold such opinions, but he wasn't gay, it was just a bloody film!
I happen to be an atheist, but I know there are some really cool people who are religious, and it's all cool. But this just gives them the worst name, and not all religious people think like that.
Religious or not, I don't see what makes them believe they're so bloody high and mighty that they can go about publically offending people like that.
I am so annoyed!

That's actually sick ... seriously.
I don't have much to add, since I agree with everything you said.
He was an actor, ACTING the part of the guy in Brokeback Mountain.
But they're also saying about people who support it ..usakgdai there aren't words to describe how stupid that is.

Re: Heath Ledger's death, and religion
sounds harsh but ...
i dont have much time for people who follow a religion , apart from a few people who arent completly sucked into it.
i mean , what is the point in following something that isnt proven , and is a whole mix of mumbo jumbo that contradicts itself and has no relevance to society today !
grr
yeah sorry bought that rant

yuck
the people who put that banner together are beyond perverted... it does make me sick to read it....
Re: Heath Ledger's death, and religion
I hate the word Religion, it's thrown around so easily, anything can be classed as a religion these days. For example supporting a football team, supports got to the ground to watch a game, a place which in context is like the church, and they follow the team...like a God figure. That's all religion briefly is.
I don't call myself "Religious" I say I have a relationship with God. "Relgion" should be a personal thing I think, if you choose it you do if you don't you don't. I don't think it should be forced on any one. But also people shouldn't be completely ignorant to it.
I haven't seen the film, but from what I've heard it's about gay cowboys or something right? Homosexuality personally isn't my thing, I find the idea a little odd, but I'm not gonna say burn in hell for it and I wouldn't use it as a reason to dislike someone! Again, sexual preference is a personal decision.
RIP Heath Ledger, I'm sure his portrayal of the joker in the new Batman film will be a great way to end his career.

Re: Heath Ledger's death, and religion
I can't find the image again. But various other websites have seen it, and have articles on it.
This comes from CityNews.ca:
Caution: Some viewers may find the following content offensive.
A radical Kansas-based church plans to protest actor Heath Ledger's funeral over his Academy Award-nominated role in Brokeback Mountain.
The Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka claims Ledger died and is in Hell because he played a gay cowboy in the critically acclaimed Ang Lee film.
The 28-year-old Aussie actor was found deceased in bed in a Manhattan apartment Tuesday afternoon. No foul play is suspected and police suggested an accidental drug overdose could be to blame. Prescription sleeping pills were found by his body. However an autopsy conducted Wednesday came back inconclusive.
The church released a statement the same day as the star's death, quoting a Bible passage that states, "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is abomination."
The release went on to contend, "Heath Ledger is now in Hell and has begun serving his eternal sentence there."
It's not the first time the church, started in 1955, has voiced its opposition to the gay lifestyle. Members run several websites that espouse their views and so far they've held tens of thousands of demonstrations. The group reportedly also plans to picket the Academy Awards this year.
If googled, other sites come up with it mentioned.
