Re: Procrastination
Haha, I have a feeling that BOTB was more than a little rigged, lol. An i think it must have been about 18 months ago, JHS have only been going 2 years i think.
oh
it seems so long ago. and of course it was rigged, the rift got to play like nine bloody songs. oh well, they split up, look whose still going, you and wth?!
now that noone expected and they are now rather popular. and playing with some mighty fine bands (which only had a small input from me )

Re: Procrastination
Haha, I was just thinking, Alex, you dont fancy trying to put on a SB6 show at all do you, I'll help as much as possible, maybe support from ShyChlo an us?? What do you think? There seems to be a fairly sizeable SB6 fanbase around at the moment.
Re: Procrastination
um it would have to be in like june but yeah, i mean if theyre up for it. ask them?
support from you? wth?! and shyclo?
we could have it at either the diner or sinden, or were you thinking bigger. (sinden we can get 250 max)

Re: Procrastination
Well i'll see if I can find contact detailes for one of them. As for size I think the intemacy of the Diner would be great for a SB6 show. I think a decent sound tech would be required though, they have a fairly complex rig, what with 3 vocals, guitar, bass, drums and samples as well as the odd bit of brass too.
Re: Procrastination
the sinden has got everything built in though??? and a massive stage. they must have alot of equipment.
Re: Procrastination
The sinden is not bad, but I have played several gigs there that have not been great, the other problem is that the room is so big it looses a great deal of atmosphere and the foldback kind of dies so you cant hear a thing on stage. I just think the diner beats it hands down, also it is far cheaper to hire out, even if you hire a seporate sound man too.

You can just contact them on myspace, their bass player replies to all the messages. Or you could try barneyboom@hotmail.com.
Re: Procrastination
yeah i know what you mean, but honestly its slightly more profesional, and im a student i get it cheap (im also on good terms with the manager) i get it cheaper
the whole front of the stage can be taken back. and the lighting rig is pretty impressive.

Re: Procrastination
I agree with the lighting, its very cool and comes out especially well in photos. It is just the foldback that i worry about, its up to you though. I just feel that the Diner presents a far more intimate gig that i think SB6 would sound better in.
Re: Procrastination
we can reduce both the stage and take awya the seating, and there is more than enogh room for equipment.
you said yourself that they ahve loads of equipment, if they were in the diner they would take like halve of it up with their stuff.
i just think the sinden is more profesional and we can selll more tickets.

Re: Procrastination
I suppose, + there are many people in Tenterden and is a lot easier to get to if it is promoter big time as Homewood.
You win dude, lol.

Re: Procrastination
Alex, I love the sound of a carpark, lets do it! haha. I did once play a gig in a kitchen though and it was so much fun it was possibly one of the best atmophere's we have ever had at a gig.
Re: Procrastination
haha, I've actually played in a carpark before, well it was a tent type thing in a carpark lol.
yay
i think YAY! the most outdoory thing we done was when we recorded ourselves at newtown railway works... this run down demolition site.... one lad with a skateboard randomly turned up because he could hear us from his house..... surreal....

Woo I like the idea of this can we set something up legally here
hmm
not sure... but we took photos there once and there were police walking round who didn't seem all that bothered.... probably worth looking into.
Re: Procrastination
Sounds like a plan batman. Ashford has a couple of summer festivals so there's always room for more!
