Favourites, what you're looking forward to this year, last film you saw, etc etc you get the point.

I have a soft spot for X-Men and Spiderman films, but my ultimate favourite film is Philadelphia, starring my 2 favourite actors Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington, possibly the most powerful and necessary film ever made.

I'm a girl that hates chick flicks lol, give me a film with a violence, action or even just a slight dark edge is good enough!

Films Empty violence....

Post  pauloftherash Sat Jan 12, 2008 11:34 pm

okay... top film for violence and a dark edge would be 'a clockwork orange'... probably the most deranged thing i've seen... based on the equally great book by anthony burgess.... any film by Stanley Kubrick is worth seeing... 'the shining' is quite disturbingly brilliant.... cyclops

Will smith is a great actor, The Pursuit of Happyness is a very good film.

I know it's very old but I also love Taxi Driver.

I love The Notebook. It's one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen!
Continuing on the girlie chick flick theme, I also love Dirty Dancing, Music and Lyrics, My Best Friend's Wedding. Anything with Hugh Grant or Julia Roberts in really.
Pulp Fiction is amazing! I find it so funny, me and my mate have this thing where we quote it to each other.
Knocked Up was hilarious, I really need to get that.
And I thought K-Pax and Pay It Forward were really good movies too.
I love Bruce Willis, so the Die Hard series, Hostage, etc etc. Love a good action movie.

xx

Films Empty just to say about disturbing but interesting films...

Post  Average Contents Wed Jan 16, 2008 3:56 pm

check out the Korean films by Chan-wook Park, in particular his vengeance series which includes Oldboy, Sympathy For Mr Vengeance and Lady Vengeance.

Also, the Hong Kong new wave films are pretty good, in particular Chungking Express by Wong-kar Wai - a great twist on tradition romance films

oh and the Danish new wave Dogma films are pretty good. Especially Festern (The Celebration) the tension and uncomfortable feelings are unforgettable!!

hope this helps!!Smile
