Re: News
no...if that was the case it would have been an article about little men who live in raindrops and collect tea-towels.

Tune in for a battle of the bands - 2nd Article Your Ashford
THE hunt for the next big thing has got underway at the Downtown Diner as war is waged in a battle of the bands contest.
Quickly established as a thriving scene for local musical talent, the Park Street venue is now hoping to bring the cream of the crop to its table.
Held over four Sundays, big crowds have already started flocking to the events – the natural progression to its regular hit weekend performances.
Explains Sue Bell, who promotes the evenings with a view on showcasing the fast emerging young talent in the town: “The trouble is that at most other venues you have to be older than 18 to play there. The great thing about the Downtown Diner is that you can have younger people at the venue.”
Mrs Bell started the evenings last September with musicians and audience members as young as 14. Now the excitement is mounting over the battle of the bands competition.
She said: “We had so many young bands that wanted to play I thought this would be a good way to give everyone some time on stage. The only rule is that at least one of the band members has to be 18 or under.
“We are having four Sundays in a row. Six bands play and the two top bands go through to the final.”
Mrs Bell says the evenings not only highlight young talent in the town but it is also a safe environment for young people to spend time.
“In a way it is a bit like a youth club; it’s somewhere where the youngsters can meet and enjoy the bands but they are in a safe environment. I am a parent myself and I know that it is good to know that your children are safe.”
Now she hopes the evenings will help to kick start the young musicians musical careers.
She added: “There is a lot of talent in the area. It’s all really about given them an experience they can go to regularly.”
