Anything and everything by Freya North! Proper chick-lit, if you like that sort of thing.
I own every book she has written, and she literally makes me laugh out loud! And cry sometimes too. She is one of the most amazing authors I've come across!

I'm also into Fantasy and Adventure, so I'd recommend The Belgariad Series by David Eddings, and the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb. Amazing for the imagination! (Y)

I got an A* for my Romeo and Juliet essay...
...I think I may have enjoyed it a tad too much...
hehe

I like fantasy and adventure books too...although the librarian at my school thought I was taking the piss when I asked for a book about a boy on an adventure...
Can't think why...

Hard times by charles dickens... 'tis bloody painfully marvellous.... my fave book ever in fact.... i read trainspotting by irvine welsh once, it was far more tricky than dickens... as it is writtin in a colloquial dialect... that of the region of Leith in Scotland.... Pick up a copy and give it a go, you will see what i mean... 'tis quite hilarious.... ooh... tell you what else is good.... the howard marks book of dope stories.... big fat book about the highs and lows of drug taking, smuggling, selling, manufacturing etc... has lots of snippets from literary works... there is one excerpt that is about how television is a drug... and it's use is far more epidemic than that of say heroin or coke... and how it goes un-noticed that it has similarities to them... i.e you sit watching it in a dribbly state of transfixion, you are convinced of the existence of another reality, you are addicted beyond rationality... it's strange but true....

What about Great Expectations, its a cracking book, not too difficalt to read either. I worked on a musical of it this summer was the best 2 weeks of my life, so i may be slightly biased towards the book.

It's a blinder, i was told it was a tough read and was preparing for the worst, when infact i brought it at WHSmiths at Kings Cross and by the time i had got to Aberdeen it was read. Passed the time nicely, along with views of the incredible Scottish East coast.

No just a spartan like focus!! And i think i missed the odd page as i had to read it by Aberdeen, also there where fairly extensive delays on the GNER trains that day, so i was siting on the floor of a train for 5 hours instead of in my seat as many trains had been cancelled.

has anyone read Jane Eyre?
If you have, DO NOT tell me what happens.
But I actually love it at the moment ... just over half way through the book.

Ahh I would but sadly, it's not mine.
We're reading it in English - it's the school's book. I like reading ahead before they ruin it with their analysis =)
