Got a map in the photo section which does help people out of the area find it, have you been down to the diner yourself yet?, is a great little venue with awesome bands playing from all over the UK. pirat

my booky wook

Post  pauloftherash on Sun Jan 13, 2008 1:52 pm

there are zillions of ways to promote anything....... have you thought about radio? newspapers.... all the usual coverage... also get some press down there to do write ups, take phots, try and arrange a weekly thing where they can review the gigs on aregular basis..... get some amateur media students to video gigs and whack them all over youtube..... i have this rather lovely booky wook... called the unsigned guide... not sure if you have it, but it has a seemingly endless list of resources in it for promotion, merchandise, record co. contacts, media contacts.... cost us nearly 40 quid but it's bloody brill if you wanna have a look....

okay... obscure... sure we can think of something... i am quite an obscure person you know.... There must be ways of making events more attractive to people... you did the whole food thing at flaming henrys... what would make people watch? pole dancers! you could have a poles and pies event..... Very Happy hmmm. i will certainly let you know when my brain starts working

Some events I've been to ask for your email address when you come in the door so they can notify you of future events.

Good Idea Chloe, I tried that at my first diner gig in September but when I got back most of the email addys were not legible, don't know if it was the lighting in there or the way they wrote. Still they will have to put their emails on the BOTB voting slips so maybe this time I will be actually able to read them Wink
